Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and the namesake of our longtime blend of coffees from the area. The history of this blend goes way back to the days of Alfred Peet who spent years in Indonesia primarily as a tea taster early in his career. We remember him for his idea and inspiration. This blend showcases the best qualities of coffee grown in the Indonesian Islands. Three types of beans and flavors make up the blend. Sumatra provides the earthy, deep, slightly sweet component with a big mouth feel. New Guinea, with original root stock from the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, adds a complete and complex taste. Java provides the third part of the blend and adds a full smooth and sweet note.
