From the Sipi Falls Coffee Project, we are offering coffee from Uganda! The cup has deep, slightly sweet cocoa and molasses flavors with notes of red apple rounding out the finish.
At high elevations near Mount Elgon, farmers cultivate Blue Mountain and Bourbon coffee trees using organic growing practices qualifying their coffee for Organic and Rain Forest Alliance certifications. Established in 1999, the Sipi Falls Coffee Project has organized family-owned farms in the Bugisu region to strengthen coffee quality and sustainable incomes for farmers.
The Sipi Falls Coffee Project has helped farmers improve agronomic practices for both higher quantity and quality yields, providing training, access to young trees, and extension services. Intercropping provides both shade and natural compost for the coffee trees as well as food for the farmers and their families.
