Originally blended in England in the 1830’s for the second Earl Grey, this tea has endured as a classic. The distinctive flavor and aroma is derived from the addition of essential oil pressed from the rind of the bergamot orange (Cirtrus bergamia). Earl Grey tea blends are not equal. The quality of the teas selected to establish the base of the blend is important. Our Earl Grey contains top notch Ceylon Orange Pekoe grade tea from Sri Lanka.
